Greg Evans, M. Div., M.A., LPC, NCC

A Licensed Professional Counselor and Nationally Certified Counselor, Greg Evans has
been a full-time professional counselor since 2003. He has done advanced study in the
areas of marriage therapy and couples communication. Mr. Evans has been trained in
the highly acclaimed PREP® marriage and communication model. In addition to his
work as a therapist at Trinity Counseling, Greg also works as a professional counselor
with the Neuropsychology Clinic in Tuscaloosa, where he concentrates on individual
and marital therapy, working often with geriatric clients.

At Trinity, Greg particularly enjoys his work with the students at Restoration Academy
in Fairfield. An inner-city school closely associated with Christ Church, Mr. Evans
provides individual counseling to the students at Restoration; he also leads a high school
boys’ discussion group. Last year, Mr. Evans and Trinity Counseling began a once-per-
semester backpacking trip offered only to Restoration Academy students and faculty.
Last Spring, they hiked the beautiful gorges of Bankhead National Forest, and have
plans for the near future to backpack part of the Appalachian Trail.

Mr. Evans began his undergraduate education at Millsaps College and completed his B.A.
from the University of Alabama. He continued his career as a professional musician,
traveling throughout the country for almost eight years, during which time he recorded
two albums. Greg married Allison, his high-school sweetheart, in 1993, and they moved
to Pittsburgh one year later, where Greg earned his M. Div. from Trinity Episcopal School
for Ministry. Mr. Evans completed his M.A. in Counseling at the University of Alabama.

Greg Evans has also spent the past eight years in ordained ministry as founding rector of
St. Mary Magdalene Charismatic Episcopal Church in Northport. Whether functioning as
a pastor or as a counselor, Fr. Greg passionately desires to see people, marriages, and
communities set free by the power of God’s transforming love and mercy. This is not a
theoretical orientation for Greg; rather, it is the same radical reality that forever changed
his life almost twenty years ago.

Greg has four children and resides in Northport, Alabama. He has traveled the world,
backpacking and hitchhiking throughout Western Europe, Southern Africa, and
portions of Central and South America. Recently he fulfilled a life-long dream by
doing a study tour of Israel, Egypt, and Jordan. Greg enjoys gardening, hunting,
fishing, and reading. He also restores old homes in his spare time.
